NATIONAL OBAMA DAY. YEA! I watched tv all day today...embracing the "Humanity" of it all. I kept jumping between CNN and FOX and ABC.
Our cable and internet went out for 2 hours early this morning, so I had Chris pull out the old tv and rabbit ears. It worked just fine. The cable came back on about 15 minutes before the actual ceremony. GEEZE LOUISE.
The really sad thing is, that little tv with the rabbit ears will not work after Feb. 17th. We have to get one of those digital boxes. Technology. Love and HATE it. We still have an old "dial up" phone for emergencies for when the power goes out...and a land line for safety...just plug the old phone into the phone jack...bingo....(it's my "princess" phone from highschool)....and oh yes, God bless AM radio.

U2 Rocks the Capital
I just watched U2 on the "We Are One" - HBO special, to celebrate the Inauguration. U2 sang "Pride" and "City Of Blinding Lights". They performed about 90 minutes into the show.

Opening Reception - "Anything Goes"
There was an Opening Reception last night at The Sanchez Art Center, here in Pacifica. A great time was had by all! The parking lot was full and I saw quite a few new faces. The quality of art was much higher than normal, I felt like I was in San Francisco.
I was very inspired by Louise Stanley's paintings in the Main Gallery and the "German American's" show entitled: "RUST", which was in the East Wing Gallery. My two pieces "HEART #1" and "SMILE #1" were in the West Wing show: "Anything Goes". The show runs thru Feb. 21, 2009. The hours of the galleries are: Fri. Sat. & Sun. 1-5pm.
Show runs: Jan. 16th - Feb. 21, 2009

GMC Magazine Photo Shoot
Matt McKenna and son Joey near the Pacifica Ocean, just south of the Pigeon Point Lighthouse, and south of Half Moon Bay, California. I got there around 3pm and I stopped shooting a little after sunset.
Matt brought his wife and little boy. At the last minute I asked son Joey to get up on his dad's shoulders...bingo!
Earlier that week, I scouted the location and took a few test shots with a stand in - a giant doll head stuck on a light stand. Those turned out pretty funny! I was so thankful that Northern California was having an unusual hot spell instead of cold, windy fog. This photo will appear in "GMC The Magazine", Spring 2009.
