LANCE ARMSTRONG in Pacifica

Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer, both from Team Astana, along with the rest of the world's professional cyclists sped thru damp and soaked Pacifica today, in stage #2 from Sausalito to Santa Cruz, in California's Longest Stage Race "The Amgen Tour of California".

The race started in Sausalito, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and continued down Highway #1 thru Pacifica and Half Moon Bay. The riders took a slight left hand turn and went into the redwoods south of Half Moon Bay and later returned to Highway #1. They went into the redwoods again further south on Bonny Doon Rd and finally landed in Santa Cruz.

I had planned to stand at the top of the hill on Highway #1, across the street from the lovely
SEA BOWL, between Rockaway Beach and Linda Mar in Pacifica. (i live there) I was very lucky I did, as I got to experience the "Shirtless Guys" and had a clear view of Lance and Levi and the rest of the Peloton.

Lance is in the black rain jersey with the black and yellow helmet. He has #2 marked at the back of seat. Levi was in front of Lance, also with the black rain jersey and wore a blue and white and black helmet.

The cyclist wearing the black rain jersey, to the right of the "shirtless guy" is Jason McCartney, who's on
Team Saxo Bank. The other riders in that first breakaway were: Steven Cozza, Thomas Peterson, Carlos Barredo, Stef Clement, Grischa Neirmann, Markus Zberg, Cameron Evans and Ben Jacques-Maynes.

There were lots of fans standing along the edge of Highway #1. Lots of yellow chalk on the pavement, lots of screaming and yelling, and lots of cowbells. Everyone was covered in colored plastic and dripping wet. Way fun!
